* Hunger Task Force Food Bank, 1240 Clinton St. La Crosse, (608) 793-1002, is in need of canned or boxed soups, peanut butter, jelly, breakfast cereals, canned fruit and pasta. Please drop off your donations 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon.- Fri. or by appointment.

* The Food Pantry in the La Crosse Salvation Army at 223 Eighth St. N.,(608)782-6126 is in extremely short supply of canned vegetables, boxed meals (H&T Helper / Rice-a-roni / Mac & Cheese), tuna, vegetable soups, pasta and sauces, and toilet tissue. Donation drop off is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. A donation of any of these item will be appreciated!

* Onalaska Food Basket, (next to the Onalaska American Legion Club), 731 Sand Lake Road, (608) 783-7722 is in need of hamburger/tuna helper, stew, canned tomato products, peanut butter, cream soups, vegetable soups, tomato soups, beans and pasta. Thank you for your generosity.

The 9th Annual Neighbors Day

Those who would like assistance from volunteers with outdoor cleanup can get free help with raking yards, trimming shrubs and washing outside windows should fill out an assistance request form and submit it to the La Crosse Jaycees by April 11.

Those who wish to volunteer need to fill out the volunteer form by April 18.

La Crosse Jaycees coordinates the La Crosse Neighbors Day.

You can volunteer as a group or as an individual.

Both forms should be mailed to the following address: La Crosse Jaycees Neighbors Day, P.0. Box 1234, La Crosse, WI 54602-1234.

Volunteers will register from 8 to 9 a.m. April 26 at Black River Beach Neighborhood Center.

After picking up their tools, they will be dispatched throughout the city to work.

* WAFER food pantry, 403 Causeway Blvd., La Crosse, (608) 782-6003, is in need of deodorant, shampoo, toilet tissue, hygiene products, diapers, baby formula, rice, rice packets, crackers, pancake mix, syrup, breakfast cereal, macaroni & cheese, pasta, spaghetti sauce, boxed helper meals or side dishes, peanut butter, jelly, baked / pork & beans, canned meats, salmon, tuna, canned chicken, SPAM, beef stew, canned corn, canned vegetables, canned fruits, hand crank can openers, Ramen style noodle, cream, vegetable, tomato, crackers and all kinds of soups including low sodium, salad dressings, Jello, pudding mix, any gluten free items (such as soup, noodles, crackers, all purpose baking mixes) and empty clean egg cartons.
