City of La Crosse Neighbors Day, Saturday April 24, 2010

Neighbors Day is an event organized by the La Crosse Jaycees designed to help elderly and individuals with disabilities in the City of La Crosse spruce up their homes for spring.

Those who are elderly and individuals with disabilities can call on volunteers for outdoor cleanup work during Neighbors Day, set this year for April 24, 2010 from 8am-2pm.

Those in the City of La Crosse who qualify can get free help with raking yards, trimming shrubs and washing outside windows. Fill out a registration coupon available on line at www.cityoflacrosse.org Neighbors Day listing and submitting it by April 9.

In 2009, 273 people received assistance from 56 volunteer groups. Demand for services is expected to be just as strong this year and additional volunteers would be helpful, said Heather Suby, president of the La Crosse Jaycees, the organization that coordinates Neighbors Day.
