Finals Week in Madison = Final Chance for Dems to Gin Up Votes

Finals week. Brings back memories, doesn't it?

How many of you (pre-2011) crammed for finals while your roommate pestered you about voting in the upcoming recall election?

Here's a recently published article in the Wisconsin Reporter about the mad dash to register voters on campus in Mad-town.

Take note of the final 2 paragraphs in the piece about a young lady named, Hannah Somers. Who exacly is Ms. Somers trying to kid?

Remembering 9/11

American Flag (also a jigsaw puzzle ) It hardly seems like 10 years have past since the day 19 terrorists turned passenger planes into guided missiles. The leading story in the national news up until just before 8:46 am EDT was the disappearance of Chandra Levy and whether or not Congressman Gary Condit was a withholding information regarding their affair and her disappearance. Then within the blink of an eye, America was under attack. A clear day with beautiful blue sky was marred with death and destruction. I still remember the raw emotion I felt as I sat in my living room, watching the 2nd plane hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

Happy Independence Day!

Ah, yes, the Fourth of July. A day of grilling out, boating, watching baseball, drinking beer, and watching fireworks. Sure, people know those aren't the only things associated with July 4th. After all, it's America's birthday - the anniversary of signing the Declaration of Independence. Yet I can't help but wonder if the true meaning of July 4th has lost its meaning to many Americans.

When our forbears severed ties with King George III and England, there was no guarantee our fledgling nation would blossom into what it is today.

By the grace of God and with no small amount of blood, sweat, tears, and loss of life, that this constitutional republic known as the United States of America began to grow and thrive. America's entrepreneurial spirit fanned the flames of desire to be the global leader in industrialization, commerce, trade, and military might.

Get paid to $10/hr to be Intellectually Dishonest!

I saw this ad in the classifieds in today's La Crosse Tribune. I wouldn't doubt that this isn't the first time the ad has appeared in the Trib. But since I only get the Trib on weekends, I couldn't help but notice. I also found the same ad on Craigslist.

Wow! For $10/hr someone can wander the streets, knock on doors (without anyone having to answer the door), talk to the few people who do answer doors, and drone on about how nothing is fair in Wisconsin or the world.

This is what happens when raw emotion overrides rational thinking.
