Governor Doyle's Legacy

Governor Doyle shifted the political spotlight back on Wisconsin this week with his announcement that he will not seek a third term in 2010.   He said he is stepping aside so that a new governor can lead the state revitalizes the office.  

Is Governor Doyle's $47.5 Million No-Bid Deal Good For Taxpayers?

Governor Doyle recently announced that back in May he entered into a $47.5 million deal with a Spanish company for two trains that will run on the Amtrak Chicago to Milwaukee Hiawatha line.  This week, on a party-line vote, eleven Democrats on the Joint Finance Committee signed off on the no-bid contract and authorized more state borrowing to finance the purchase.
