personal responsibility
Tim Gray writes: What Pro-Choice Advocates (and Liberals in General) Fail to Understand....Besides the Bible
As a Christian, I could point out numerous passages in the Bible that life begins at conception. (Psalm 51:5; Luke chapter 1 where John the Baptist leaps for joy in his mother's womb when Mary, the mother of Jesus, comes to visit...to name a few).
There is an intellectual side to pro-choice vs. pro-life, and that is purpose of my writing.
Naturally, pro-life advocates have made the argument - and correctly so - about the so-called fetus having a beating heart, lung development, brain wave activity and such. All valid and true arguments. All of which I have used and will continue to use. Yet one thing that pro-choice advocates, who claim we live in a democracy, and not a theocracy, do not understand was made even clearer to me today.
One Vote. One Person.
It's sad that fewer and fewer people understand the correlation between rights and responsibility. While we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as Americans, we have a duty to exercise those rights with responsibility. One such right that comes with a great amount of responsibility is the right to vote.
In a perfect world, there would be no need to worry about whether a particular election was "fair" or not. There would be no need to worry whether a person or group of people voted only once or multiple times.
As we know all too well, we live in an imperfect world, an imperfect country, an imperfect state, and an imperfect community.
Tim Gray writes: PERSONAL Responsibility
You already noticed the first word of the title is in all caps. There's a good reason for that.
Whenever I think of personal responsibility when it comes to health care, ethics, morals, and the like, the word, "personal," to me, has a double entendre when linked with "responsibility."
I won't waste time on how we are responsible for our own actions and lives. Besides, CouleeConservatives.com regulars have a good grasp of being responsible for one's own actions. That takes care of the first meaning of "personal".
Random, but Conservative Thoughts by Tim Gray
It's been awhile since my last post....too long. So, I thought I would share some random, but conservative thoughts on a couple of different issues.
