An issue that is of central importance to many of us conservatives is protection of firearms rights. We have taken a step in the right direction with the re-affirmation by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2008 that the Second Amendment of our Constitution does apply to individual citizens. This is a civil right that is central to protecting other basic rights enumerated in our Constitution and cannot be ignored.
