Dan Kapanke

A Time of Decision

Faced with a $3.6 billion deficit Governor Scott Walker had to make an unpleasant choice; raise taxes or eliminate government jobs to balance the budget. Instead he opted for a middle road that preserved jobs by having government employees contribute more to their health and retirement benefits.

These are unpopular choices but someone had to make them. Senator Dan Kapanke had the courage to make this choice and now he is faced with a recall election.

Representative Jennifer Schilling has stepped forward as the champion of the unions to challenge Kapanke. How would Schilling have fixed the budget deficit? Well, it seems safe to say that she would not have eliminated government workers jobs or asked them to pay more for benefits which leaves tax increases as the only option.

Support Dan Kapanke on Election Day

I thought about reminding readers that Jennifer Shilling brought our state into a huge financial hole, fought against citizens’ 2nd Amendment rights, participated in some of the most disgraceful protests in the history of our state, and has never held a non-political (real) job all her life.

Instead I decided that I will focus this letter on why I support Dan Kapanke.

Dan is one of the most honorable men I have met. He is an honest working man who represents us in Madison with courage and integrity. The traits that I suspect he learned as a member of the Marine Corps or maybe growing up on a farm or perhaps working hard in his small business by providing excellent services to the community. Even Shilling recognizes what a great representative Dan is.

Examine the Data for Yourself

Several days have passed since I revealed the Coulee Conservatives analysis of the Kapanke recall petitions. I even sent direct emails to the local media to make them aware of it even though I know they subscribe to my Twitter and Facebook feeds and monitor this site. So far, not a single ounce of curiosity in the possible mass voter fraud that was perpetrated on Western Wisconsin citizens by Democrats and their handlers in the public sector unions.

As a result I have decided to fully expose the data retrieved from the Kapanke recall petitions. You can view and search through the entire list of people who 'supposedly' signed the papers to have Dan Kapanke recalled.

Give it a try now and leave your comments about what you find there.

Analysis of Recall Petitions

For several weeks a group of Coulee Conservatives has been entering data and mapping the addresses for the people who signed the Kapanke recall petitions.

I used Google Maps to display the information graphically into four different displays. It was necessary to split the information into four parts so that the Google Maps API could absorb it without timing out.

As you can see from the attached screenshots below, many of the addresses fall outside the 32nd Senate District. After analyzing several of these I still have some questions:

Kapanke Signs on to Constitutional Carry Bill

For several days there has been a tremendous grass roots effort to contact representatives regarding the right to keep and bear arms in the State of Wisconsin. Legislation has been introduced in the State Senate (SB93) that will eliminate the barriers that currently exist for citizens to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.

I have discussed this with staff members in Senator Kapanke's office and others spoke to the senator directly.  Senator Kapanke discussed the legislation with the bill's author and has worked through his concerns and has now signed on as a co-sponsor for the bill.

This is a great step forward and I congratulate Senator Kapanke for working hard to examine all of the issues involved and concluding that this bill is worthy of sponsorship.
