* The Food Pantry in the La Crosse Salvation Army at 8th & State, (608)782-6126 is in extremely short supply of canned vegetables, boxed meals(H&T Helper/Rice-a-roni/Mac & Cheese), pasta and sauces. A donation of any food stuff will be appreciated!

* Onalaska Food Basket, (608) 783-7722 (next to the Onalaska American Legion Club), 731 Sand Lake Road, is in need of hamburger/tuna helper, stew, canned tomato products, peanut butter, cream soups, vegetable soups, tomato soups, beans and pasta. Thank you for your generosity.

* WAFER food pantry, 403 Causeway Blvd., La Crosse, (608) 782-6003, is in need of toilet tissue, rice, crackers, cereal, pasta, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, baked beans, tuna, canned corn, canned vegetables, canned fruit and all kinds of soup.

* Catholic Charities Food Pantry, (608) 782-0710 is in need of donations of all types. Please drop off items at 3710 East Avenue South, La Crosse, from 8:30-4:00 Mon-Thurs.

YOU CAN economically MAKE FOOD PANTRY GIFTS. Take the time to check weekly flyers at your grocer or print coupons from on-line sites. Look for the discounted or coupon non-perishables which you will not use. Dedicate 1 of your green bags for food pantry when shopping. BUY those GREAT VALUES then DONATE to a specific FOOD PANTRY or to your place of worship.

* The Salvation Army seeks winter wear — coats, boots, hats, scarves, gloves — of all sizes. Items can be dropped off at The Salvation Army, 223 N. Eighth St., or at an area Kwik Trip.
