I Apologize by Chris Muller

In my previous blog post I equated the income tax system and liberal policies that result in government control with slavery.  Friends have reminded me of the reality of slavery and why it is not at all similar.  I thank them for that and I admit that I let my frustration get the better of me.  For that I apologize.

Slaves do not have any choices.  They are forced to work with no claim to the fruits of their own labor.  Under our current government policies we have the option of quitting our jobs and living on the charity of others if that is in our character. If we do choose to work then we are forced to sacrifice a portion of our income to government.  This leads me to realize that a better description for the income tax is legal theft.

Normal theft is when a thug points a weapon and demands our money.  The income tax is our government pointing laws at us and making the same demands for our money against our will.  God did not say "Thou shall not steal, unless a majority says it’s ok."  He said, "Thou shall not steal." Period.  The income tax may be legal but it is just as immoral as a thug stealing our money in a dark alley way.
