Maybe I missed it. I searched the La Crosse Tribune website and could not find the electronic version of an article by reporter Samantha Marcus. The story in the print edition for Saturday, 9/4/10 had a story buried on the front page of the D section below the fold entitiled Kind maintains wide fundraising lead.
I spent the evening at an event with Dan Kapanke and his supporters and also in attendance was Congressman Pete Sessions from Texas. Mr. Sessions was there to represent the national leadership of the Republican Party and I must say that I was very pleased with the conversation. I have been a part of different types of groups throughout my career in information technology and also during my time in politics. One thing that I have found to be a universal truth of all groups, whether political or business related, is that the strongest ones include participants who feel comfortable asking and answering tough questions. It is never healthy to be surrounded by a bunch of “yes men” and tonight was a great display of the new strength among Republicans as we asked tough questions and received reasonable answers. Mr.
It must be campaign season because Democrats have started letter writing campaigns to distort the truth. Recent letters against Dan Kapanke are eerily similar and appear to be the result of talking points or maybe a copy/paste campaign from Party bosses who want to distract you from real issues. They will discuss anything except Ron Kind’s voting record and how his votes led to policies that are destroying economic freedom and tanking the economy.
FACT: Ron Kind voted in favor of bailing out AIG.

Back in July I warned you that Ron Kind and his allies were going to go on the attack:
Also, his allies in various liberal organizations will spend God only knows how much money to help defend his seat in Congress to prevent the common sense spending cuts and liberty-loving reforms that Dan believes in. Folks, let me warn you, when those organizations start spending their money in this race I guarantee it is going to be ugly so be prepared for the worst that Ron Kind's allies can dish out.
Unfortunately I was right again:
Americans For Prosperity is doing a "Spending Revolt" tour around the United States and they are in Wisconsin this week so I stopped by their event at Copeland Park in La Crosse to hear what they had to say. I'm on their mailing list and I have attended their events in the past. I missed their big Tea Party in Madison due to my work schedule but I heard it was an excellent event and I really appreciate the message that they are spreading across the country.
