Recently, my own community of Rosendale-Brandon took an important step to protect religious freedom in our schools. School Board Member Beth Redeker helped lead the effort to adopt a religious freedom policy based on a model developed by the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty. The policy helps ensure both students’ and teachers’ religious freedom is respected within the classroom.

Keeping Wisconsin Open For Business
Wisconsin’s strong fiscal position creates an opportunity for common-sense tax relief, more support for schools and kids, lower property taxes, and comprehensive energy reform. New state fiscal estimates for 2025-26 project revenues $450.8 million above the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau’s January estimate, putting Wisconsin on track for an estimated $2.8 billion surplus.
Benjamin Yount reports that State Rep. Scott Krug is the latest Republican demanding accountability after Milwaukee’s central count operation once again delayed results during the August primary. A poll worker downloaded audit logs instead of actual vote totals from five tabulators, forcing a late-night recovery and pushing final results past 1 a.m.
A recent peer-reviewed study released by the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty reveals that the longer students stay enrolled in school choice programs, the greater the academic growth and likelihood of outpacing their public school peers. While Wisconsin public schools continually fail students ideologically and educationally, school choice programs empower them to flourish. This study solidifies what we already know to be true: school choice provides students with the opportunity to excel.
