The Friends of NRA was proud to be part of this year's **Onalaska Community Days**, joining hundreds of local families for a day filled with community spirit, great entertainment, food, and activities for all ages. The annual celebration is one of the area's signature summer events, bringing neighbors together with live music, family-friendly games, local organizations, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy everything that makes the Coulee Region such a great place to live.

Our booth was a tremendous success, especially with our youngest visitors.

When I came to Congress, I made a promise to the families of Wisconsin's Third District: I would fight every day for rural America and ensure our communities have access to the healthcare they deserve.

For more than a year, I worked alongside President Trump, CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, and federal officials to secure a historic win for Wisconsin. Today, I am proud to announce that our state's Medicaid provider assessment will increase from less than 1.8% to 6%.

Supporting Our Local Communities

In politics, the issues that generate the most headlines and clicks are the big, contentious items we work on. While we spend a lot of time addressing the cost of living, making healthcare more accessible and affordable, and fixing our roads, one of the most rewarding parts of my job is being able to work on very specific legislation that has an immediate, local impact.

About a month ago I wrote about “The Democrats’ Dilemma” and a few months before that “All Democrats aren’t from Dublin”. Both articles shared about some of the many problems the Democrat Party seems to be facing these days – all factual if the media can be believed. If you define “dilemma” as a quagmire, or even a hole; the hole is getting deeper!

One recent July morning in a riverside woods west of Eau Claire, 13 high-schoolers took turns firing practice versions of PepperBalls at an old steel drum and un-abolishing the police.

It was, as Sgt. Mike Major of the Eau Claire Police Department put it, “the cool, the fun day for the kids, where we show them all the tools we have.”

Protect Children from Social Media

Earlier this month, a European Union Special Panel released a report that advocates for banning social media for children under thirteen. The report claims that the rapid growth of social media companies has reshaped how children interact with the world. The report states that until companies can prove that social media does not negatively affect children, they should restrict access to children. Earlier this year, a bill was introduced in the Wisconsin legislature that seeks to protect children from the harms of social media; Evers failed to sign it.

I was recently asked to give the weekly GOP radio address on the expiration of the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program.

Since the popular conservation fund lapsed several weeks ago, there has been a lot of misinformation being disseminated on the exact cause.

In my radio address, I explain the real reason why Knowles-Nelson has come to an end after 37 years of existence.
