Cooke talks health care while leaving her own staff without benefits

Rebecca Cooke has repeatedly pointed to health care as a top concern for western Wisconsin and made promises about ensuring Americans can access affordable coverage.

New reporting from The Heartland Post shows Rebecca Cooke’s campaign has not provided health insurance or a health care stipend to its own staff.

Despite raising more than $8 million, Cooke’s latest Federal Election Commission filing reports payments to campaign employees but no disbursements for employee health insurance or health care stipends.

The campaign also stopped paying for workers’ compensation insurance in October 2025.

“Rebecca Cooke wants Wisconsin families to believe she’s fighting for affordable health care. Apparently, that stops at the door of her own campaign office. Cooke has raised more than $8 million, yet she doesn’t provide health insurance or a health care stipend to her own staff. That’s a pretty revealing gap between Cooke’s empty promises and what she would actually deliver.” – Grace Kim, Campaign Spox
