Remember less than two years ago when the Republican nominee for Governor was a wealthy Wisconsin businessman that had lived for a considerable amount of time in Connecticut for “business reasons?” As a part owner of a mega-Wisconsin based business, he was there to manage business contracts in New York and southern New England. At one time or another, he had owned a mansion in Connecticut, a penthouse in Manhattan, and beachfront property in Florida. And, he had won a vicious three-candidate Wisconsin primary election for U.S. Senate in 2004.

The Most Divisive State of the Union

Last night, President Biden gave one of the most divisive and partisan State of the Union addresses ever before the United States Congress.

Some might even call it a state of delusion speech.

In his rambling, hour-long, tone-deaf address, President Biden told Americans that the economy is great, that the border crisis he created is the fault of Republicans, that Congress should pass a bill to weaken voter ID laws, and that building a port for Hamas paid for by American taxpayers will somehow help improve Israel's security.

Recently, Wisconsin Republicans passed legislation to enact something called a tax-free retirement. Republicans in the Legislature have fought for years to reduce taxes, but this one is going to be the most impactful for our retirees.

Late Friday afternoon, Governor Evers vetoed tax cuts for the middle class, retirees, and married couples.

Despite repeated opportunities provided by Legislative Republicans, Governor Evers refuses to support tax cuts that directly benefit the middle class, even when using defined parameters on what he deems as middle class.

On Thursday, President Biden visited the southern border. This is only his second visit since he took office.

In January, there were 176,205 illegal alien encounters at the southern border, making it the 35th straight month where encounters have been higher than any month during the previous administration. January’s numbers add to the already unfathomable number of illegal crossings we have experienced under President Biden with over 7.2 million illegal crossings of the southern border and 8.7 million crossings nationwide in just three years.

I am proud my bill that improves an existing investment program related to startup companies was signed into law earlier this week.

Established in 2015, the Badger Fund of Funds is a public/private partnership that functions as the lead investor in five venture capital funds administered by first-time fund managers who are located geographically across the state.

This week, it was reported that an illegal alien, whom the Biden administration released into our country in 2022, brutally murdered Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, as she went for a run at the University of Georgia.

The criminal should have been deported, but the Biden administration paroled Jose Ibarra into our nation after he illegally crossed our border in 2022.

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced that it has filed a lawsuit with the state Supreme Court asking the court to interpret the State Constitution regarding the so-called "right" of a woman to have an abortion. At the core of this petition is Article I, Section 1 of the Declaration of Rights in our State Constitution, which reads: “All people are born equally free and independent, and have certain inherent rights; among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
