Parents standing up for their daughters

While I was in D.C. this week, voting to keep the government open, I received numerous calls and emails from parents standing up for their daughters.

As you may know, the New Richmond School District is allowing male students in girls’ bathrooms. Parents and community members told the board members their daughters feel unsafe last week, and administrators said girls who object to the policy can use a single-stall restroom.

This is unacceptable, and they must reverse this policy. Girls deserve safety, fairness, and dignity in schools across Wisconsin.

Did you know that the Wisconsin Supreme Court appoints lawyer and non-lawyer members of the public to various boards, committees, and other entities that together allow the Judicial Branch of the State of Wisconsin Government to function? To assist the Supreme Court in this effort, there is an Appointment Selection Committee duly appointed to assist the Court; specifically to solicit, evaluate, and nominate persons for the Court’s consideration. The appointment letter to this committee continues “The Court asks that you encourage others to volunteer for court service…”

Lexie Lawler was a labor and delivery nurse at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Florida. She posted a video of herself on TikTok spewing a hate-filled message to President Trump’s Press Secretary, who is pregnant with her 2nd child.

"As a labor and delivery nurse, it gives me great joy to wish Karoline Leavitt a fourth-degree tear." "I hope you f***ing rip from bow to stern and never s*** normally again, you c***.”

BREAKING: One Million in Taxpayer Funds for DPI Halted Due to IRG Oversight

Last week, we sent a demand letter to help the Dairyland Sentinel seek closure on a year-old public records request filed with the Department of Public Instruction.

Yesterday, DPI complied and delivered many (although not all) of the requested records.

And today, the Legislature paused $1,000,000 earmarked for DPI operations due to what those records uncovered - including $368,885 spent by DPI last year at a waterpark conference center where DPI worked on their plan to change state standards. That’s real time taxpayer protection due to the oversight work at IRG.

Judge Maria Lazar, candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, today released a comprehensive position paper focused on the protection of religious freedom.

The release marks the third in a series of policy-focused announcements from the Lazar campaign. In the new paper, Judge Lazar emphasizes that the First Amendment’s protection of religious liberty is not merely a suggestion, but a fundamental pillar of a free society that must be defended from government overreach.

My bipartisan legislation that would help save the hemp industry in Wisconsin and add important consumer protections was passed out of committee this week and now heads to the Senate floor.

Senate Bill 682, which I authored with Representative Tony Kurtz, would implement state age restrictions, truth-in-labeling guidelines, independent testing requirements and potency limits for all hemp-derived cannabinoid (HDC) products, including THC beverages.

Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce recently published the results of its annual employer survey. They found that most employers reported feeling dissatisfied with the quality of candidates entering the workforce. Employers particularly expressed concerns about the quality of Wisconsin’s K-12 education after seeing employees straight out of high school struggle with basic math and reading skills. This lack of skill has created an employment crisis for businesses across the state as they face difficulty finding qualified candidates.
