You Are Not Alone

One of the biggest “ah-ha!” moments our LEAD campers have each year as they interact with teenagers from around Wisconsin is learning that they are not alone in their passion for advancing God's Kingdom in the public square.

Last week, I was reminded of that same principle in two ways.

Hundreds of individuals from across Wisconsin gathered around the Capitol on Saturday to march in solidarity for the protection of the unborn at the annual March for Life Wisconsin. Standing alongside so many pro-life Wisconsinites reminded me why we do what we do – our organization represents thousands of residents who want to see a Wisconsin where God is honored, life is protected, and families can thrive. We are not alone in seeking that goal, and these demonstrations serve as reminders of that. We hope you’ll join us next year for the March for Life on April 25 (it’s not too early to add that date to your calendar!).

Last week, we also attended the Family Policy Alliance’s annual conference. FPA is one of our strongest national allies. Your support for Wisconsin Family Action advances an essential mission for our state, but praise God that we are not alone in our work. There are organizations like ours in 39 states, with five more states currently developing family policy councils. This wouldn’t be possible without supporters like you in Wisconsin and faithful believers in other parts of the country.

I'll highlight just one major takeaway from the FPA conference, although there were many. Some of you may remember the lawfare pushed against President Donald Trump by New York Attorney General Letitia James prior to the election. Unfortunately, her weaponization of the judicial system against her political enemies has extended into our movement.

Last Friday, New York Families Foundation Executive Director Jason McGuire began his eight-weekend sentence that he received as a direct result of this lawfare. Our organizations have come around Jason during this time to remind him that he is not alone. As a movement, we will continue to support him, his family, and the New York Families Foundation during these difficult days.

This year, FPA gave the Minnery Legacy Award to all the executive leaders of family policy councils around the nation. This award is given to honor the efforts of an individual to advance the social conservative cause. In the picture below, you can see Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and the other family policy council leaders praying with Jason.

The Minnery Legacy Award isn't something that I deserved to be a part of; however, when we all come together to advance God's Kingdom in the public square, we can have a Kingdom-sized impact. It wasn’t just me who stood on that stage – it was me standing there on behalf of all those who support our ministry. I consider that an incredible honor.

Just as Jason is reminded that he isn't alone during these difficult days, we hope this encourages and reminds you that you are not alone either as you play a significant role in promoting a biblical worldview in the public square alongside thousands of others in Wisconsin.
