Americans for Prosperity: Backs flat tax legislation
MADISON, Wis. – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) today announced its support of the LeMahieu/Brooks flat tax proposal, a bill that would transition Wisconsin’s progressive personal income tax system to a flat tax.
AFP-WI State Director Eric Bott released the following statement:
“Adopting a flat personal income tax will provide real, long-term tax relief that Wisconsin families need and deserve. Senator LeMahieu’s and Representative Brooks’ bill takes excellent steps in transforming Wisconsin’s tax code to help drive the economy and put more money hack in the pockets of hardworking Wisconsinites.
“The state’s current tax policy stifles economic growth and disproportionately hurts mom and pop businesses. Reducing the tax burden would not only attract workers, making Wisconsin more competitive, but it would also help our small businesses invest in their employees and communities so we can continue to create jobs and grow the economy. AFP-WI is proud to support this legislation will allow all Wisconsinites to see a reduction to their income tax burden.”

I fully support a real Flat Tax
This has so much potential in so many ways. There is a lot to read about it, and it is time to do it.
When we get a Flat Tax, let us base it on the tax on our federal 1040, saving lots of time and money and almost eliminating State IRS bureaucracy. Many states do this already.
