After more than 40 days, which was the longest shutdown in history, eight Democrat Senators ultimately came to their senses and joined Republicans in voting to reopen the government. You can see how members voted in the Senate here and in the House here.

H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2026, extends government funding through January 30th and advances a package of three appropriations bills to fully fund Agriculture, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and the Legislative Branch through the remainder of the fiscal year.

Because the Democrats held our government hostage for over 40 days, I couldn’t rely on air travel to get me from my home in Wisconsin back to DC to FINALLY end the Chuck Schumer and the Democrats’ shameful government shutdown.

With planes out and no time for trains, I decided to ride the most reliable means of travel I know: my Harley-Davidson!

I fired up my Milwaukee Iron and rode more than 950 miles from western Wisconsin to DC in time to proudly cast my vote to end the government shutdown!

Every year, thousands of people are leaving Wisconsin and moving to states like Florida, Texas, and Tennessee for greater affordability and better job opportunities. As a state, we can't maintain the drain of our most significant resources - our people.

Wisconsin's high taxes and crazy liberal policies are forcing people out. That's unfortunate, because we have a tremendous amount to offer! I am running for governor to reclaim our state and to keep our next generations right here.
