This week, I took a stand for life. Assembly Republicans passed four comprehensive, common sense pro-life bills that should have received bipartisan support.

Democrats in New York and Virginia recently celebrated proposals that would make late-term abortions legal, even up to the moment of birth. Right here in Wisconsin, nearly two-thirds of Democrats sponsored a 2017 Assembly bill which would have allowed an abortion at any point in a woman’s pregnancy and eliminated voluntary and informed consent before an abortion.

In February, Assembly Republicans announced a renewed promise to fight for life and these bills fulfill that promise to our constituents.

According to the Department of Health Services, the number of induced abortions went up in 2017 for the first time since 2009. Before 2017, the number of abortions in Wisconsin had dropped for 7 years in a row.

Among the four bills that passed the Assembly, the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act requires any provider present at the time of a failed abortion to exercise the same level of professional care to the surviving child as they would to any other child delivered. Federal data shows that hundreds of children have survived abortions nationwide. This law makes sure that in Wisconsin, these children receive the care they deserve.

The Woman’s Right to Know Act, which I was proud to author, ensures that any woman who is prescribed an abortion pill regimen understands that she may still be able to save her baby, even after taking the first pill.

The Sex Selective, Genetic Disorder Abortion Ban prohibits abortions from being performed solely due to the race, color, national origin, ancestry or sex of the unborn child. It would also restrict abortions due to a diagnosis or potential diagnosis of a congenital disability.

The final bill ensures taxpayer funds will not subsidize abortion providers in any way. The bill directs DHS to de-certify, or not certify as a qualified provider under BadgerCare, any entity or affiliate of an entity that provides abortion services.

Very simple, it begins at conception, if it were not alive they would not have to kill it!

As far as rights, why would the rights of a selfish or deranged mother, supersede the person they want to kill? I will answer that, they don't! I see these people talking about their bodies, society needs to protect all bodies, especially the innocent ones.

I am disgusted by those who twist logic and morality in an effort to take innocent life purely out of their own petty selfishness. Tell me this, how many hearts does a woman have? Unless she is a modern marvel she has only ONE. Now, tell me, who's heart is being stopped by the physician performing an abortion? It isn't her heart! May God have mercy on their souls.
