If it isn’t already evident, campaigns for the Wisconsin Spring Elections will soon be in full force. Nomination procedures must be complete on January 6th. For a candidate to be nominated there is paperwork to be completed and submitted. For most offices, a number of nomination signatures must be collected as well. The exception for the signature requirement is some school districts don’t have this requirement.
As Christmas approaches, it’s easy to get caught up in the American custom of fancy gifts, flashy decorations, and large holiday gatherings. But amid these traditions, we must remember that the real reason for Christmas didn’t come to us in extravagance. The reason for Christmas came to us as a baby born in a humble stable over 2,000 years ago. The reason for Christmas is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
If you are interested in viewing my Christmas message that I filmed at the state Capitol, please see it below.
Here's to a safe, healthy and joyous holiday season.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill by Wisconsin Rep. Tom Tiffany that, if approved by the Senate, would remove the state’s rapidly expanding and aggressive gray wolf population from the endangered species list and open the door for state management.
The bill passed 211-204, with five Democrats voting with the majority.
Gray wolves are increasingly prevalent and threatening.
As the year comes to a close, Christmas offers a time to slow down and reflect on what truly matters. It’s a season rooted in gratitude, generosity, and time spent with family, friends, and community. During this season, we also pause to honor our first responders who continue to serve, protect, and keep our communities safe - often sacrificing time with their own loved ones. Wisconsinites are able to sleep safely at night because of them.
Today I announced my candidacy for the La Crosse County Board of Supervisors, seeking to represent District 20, which includes portions of Holmen and the Town of Onalaska. My campaign is centered on protecting taxpayers by refocusing county government on its core responsibilities: roads, public safety, and infrastructure
Here are some of the highlights from episodes that were recorded this year. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Take care and God Bless!
It felt like a punch to the gut for me when I opened my property tax bill.
I've cut the county property tax rate as Washington County Executive, but thanks to Gov. Evers' 400 year property tax hike, our 2025 bill went up by HUNDREDS of dollars. I've heard from people whose property taxes went up by THOUSANDS of dollars.
This madness has to stop. That's why while others have talked about property tax freezes, I've pledged to actually CUT property taxes as governor. You can count on me to do it because I've done it before.
