no higher purpose

Government has no higher purpose than defending the most vulnerable members of our society—especially the unborn.

This week the Supreme Court heard arguments on the most consequential abortion case since Roe v. Wade. The case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, presents the court with the opportunity to overturn Roe and correct what many believe to be the most egregious act of judicial arrogance in Supreme Court history.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned, it would put the Supreme Court in a neutral position where they are no longer in favor of nor against abortion. Allowing the court to stop acting as a de facto medical board and grant states the freedom to legislate on their own.

I believe that life is precious and that it should be protected from the miracle of conception to natural death. As a state Senator I supported pro-life legislation and voted in favor of the 20-week abortion ban. In Congress, I will continue to fight to protect our most basic human right—the right to life.

The Supreme Court is expected to issue a decision on the case in June 2022.
