Promises Kept for Wisconsin Veterans

Last week, I joined Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins in Wisconsin’s Third District for a productive Veterans roundtable focused on improving care, expanding access, and ensuring our Veterans receive the support they have earned through their service to our Nation.

Under President Trump and Secretary Doug Collins, the VA is finally putting Veterans first once again. After years of bureaucratic delays and failed priorities, this Administration is delivering real results for America’s Veterans and their families.

Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Collins, Veterans are seeing major improvements across the VA system:

  • 35 new VA clinics opened nationwide
  • VA claims backlog cut 70%and family health care backlog eliminated
  • Record 3 million disability claims processed in one year
  • 2.5 million expanded-hour appointments offered
  • Nearly $5 billion invested in VA modernization
  • Claims accuracy improved to over 94%
  • All 176 VA programs accredited for quality and safety
  • Faster community care scheduling implemented
  • Expanded GI Bill and women’s health access
  • Nearly 52,000 homeless Veterans permanently housed in FY25
  • Over $106 million recovered through anti-fraud efforts

I am continuing to fight in Congress to ensure Veterans receive the support, opportunities, and care they deserve.
As a sophomore member of Congress, I have already had two standalone Veterans-focused bills signed into law: the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act and the Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserves Tuition Fairness Act of 2025, strengthening benefits and expanding educational opportunities for service members and veterans.

I have also advanced a broad slate of veterans and military-focused legislation across the House floor, including:

  • VA Home Loan Program Reform Act (Signed into law)
  • Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserves Tuition Fairness Act of 2025 (Signed into law)
  • Veterans Readiness and Employment Improvement Act passed the House to strengthen workforce transition services
  • Veterans Education and Transition Transparency Act (VETT Act) passed the House to improve transition assistance
  • TAP Promotion Act introduced to strengthen Transition Assistance Program outreach
  • Warriors to Workforce Act introduced to expand Veteran job training
  • VA Home Loan Affordability Act introduced to reduce barriers and lower closing costs for veterans
