The WISCONSIN budget that the Republican Legislature approved included an additional $90 million in aid for local road repairs. We know that our roadways need the help and these dollars were going toward grants in the Local Road Improvement Program. Governor Tony Evers vetoed the funding by $15 million and erased the restrictions on the grants, allowing them to be allocated for "transit and transportation needs."

In the midst of picnics, parades and fireworks, it can be easy to forget that the freedoms we’ve known our whole lives aren’t inevitable or even normal in the light of history. At the time of the American Revolution, when kings and queens ruled over everyone else with unchecked power, our brave (even reckless) founding fathers risked their reputations and their lives to rebel against the most powerful tyrant king of all.

Rep Ron Kind’s Leadership (or lack thereof)

There was campaign chatter in 2018 that Rep Ron Kind was an unknown and insignificant Congressman just like when he was a freshman Congressman twenty-plus years earlier. This comment was heard in comparison to his then opponent who, in a thirty-two year military career, rose from Army Private to Colonel with assignments of increasing responsibilities until his retirement as an Army Installation Commander.
