Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan is in court, following charges from her alleged obstruction of the arrest of an illegal immigrant by federal officials.

The Institute for Reforming Government’s Court Watch released the following primer outlining how the law and precedent supports the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s unanimous decision to suspend Judge Dugan after her federal felony charges.

This week the House passed the budget reconciliation bill, also known as the "One Big Beautiful Bill.” This bill advances many of President Trump’s key agenda items and delivers major wins for the American people.

First and foremost, it protects families and small businesses from the largest tax hike in history and puts more money back into the pockets of seniors, parents, and workers. It also permanently secures the border, funds mass deportations, unleashes American energy, and makes key investments in our military while cutting red tape.

The reforms originated in the Institute for Reforming Government’s (IRG) report earlier this year, Building Brighter Futures: Reforming Child Welfare in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin’s Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-CD 6) is working with a group of bi-partisan representatives from various states to pass the “Student Loan Marriage Penalty Elimination Act.” Currently, married couples receive a maximum tax deduction of $2,500 on student loan interest, while those who are unmarried can receive the same amount individually. The new act would remedy this unfair situation by ensuring that both husbands and wives can receive the maximum tax benefit if they are otherwise eligible.

Liberty Over Lies: Why Democrats Fear Cutting Waste, Fraud, and Abuse

By any reasonable measure, today's Democrat leaders have completely lost their grip on reality. Their hatred for Donald Trump has blinded them to basic principles of responsible governance—so much so that they’d rather defend waste, fraud, and abuse than support common-sense reforms just because Republicans proposed them.

Transparency, sustainability, accountability: these are the three things this bill delivers for the American people. Every SNAP dollar fraudulently spent is a dollar that does not go toward feeding a hungry child. That is why we are holding states accountable for their waste, fraud, abuse, and ensuring benefits are directed to the Americans who need them most.

Reality of the Big Beautiful Bill

I'm sounding the alarm.

At a bare minimum, the “One Big Beautiful Bill” shouldn’t INCREASE the annual deficit. With the meager spending reductions being discussed, I’m afraid it actually will. We must return to a reasonable pre-pandemic level of spending.

I ran in 2010 because we were mortgaging our children's future.

If someone in your family had an illness, and you had to borrow $50,000 for medical bills, would you keep borrowing that amount of money every year even after the health crisis has passed? That is what America is doing.

On Tuesday, the Assembly passed a variety of bills with two of them passing with bipartisan support!

Assembly Bill 43 allows pharmacists to prescribe and dispense birth control, which protects life and lowers the rate of abortions. Currently, women can only obtain birth control through their physician. AB 43 helps simplify the process to make it easier for women to obtain common birth control, thus preventing unwanted pregnancies.

Pro-freedom Wisconsin legislators proposed a constitutional amendment last session that might appear as a referendum on a statewide 2026 ballot. The amendment would alter Article I, Section 18 of the state Constitution to include a provision that would protect the right of places of worship to remain open during any declared state of emergency. The resolution had a hearing in the Assembly last week. The proposal passed both the Senate and the Assembly last session and needs to pass again this session before becoming a ballot question.
