This week, the House voted on legislation to reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

This is a tool used by our intelligence agencies to surveil foreigners without a warrant, but it was found that the FBI conducted 3.4 million warrantless searches on Americans in 2021.

That’s over 9,000 warrantless searches a day.

In 2022, there were also 204,000 warrantless searches.

FISA was never meant to turn into Federal Investigators Surveilling Americans.

To help put a stop to this, I put my foot down and supported a bipartisan amendment requiring the FBI to get a warrant if they want to spy on U.S. citizens.

Unfortunately, President Biden and the deep state want to spy on you without a warrant, and our bipartisan amendment failed today in a tie. You can review how members of Congress voted here.

As a result, I voted against reauthorizing FISA, which you can view the final vote here.

While the swamp runs deep, I will continue to fight for the American people and our constitutional rights.

The Fourth Amendment is in the Constitution for a reason – it should not be circumvented.
